Miharu Takizakura, located in Miharu town, Fukushima Prefecture Japan, is a giant red weeping cherry tree cherry tree over 1,000 years old. This tree is 12m tall, 9.5m thick, and has branches about 22m east-west.
These cherry blossoms have been designated as one of Japan’s 100 most famous cherry blossom spots, along with national monuments.
It is regarded as one of Japan’s three largest cherry blossoms, together with Yamataka Jindai cherry blossoms in Yamanashi Prefecture and Neoya Tanbaku Sakura in Gifu Prefecture.
During the flowering period, cherry blossoms are illuminated so that you can also watch the fascinating night cherry blossoms, and about 200,000 tourists visit from all over Japan every year.
