Sagamiko Illumillion 2020-2021 (Cchristmas Lights) | Sagamihara, Kanagawa Japan
The Sagamiko Illumillion, which was certified as one of the three major illuminations in the Kanto region and was held at the largest scale in the Kanto region with 6 million bulbs, is a spectacular christmas lights event held at the Sagamiko Resort Pleasure Forest in Sagamihara City, Kanagawa Prefecture Japan. The three major illuminations in Kanto, Japan’s first illumination brand founded by the General Incorporated Association Nightscape Light Convention Bureau, were recertified in 2018, six years after the initial certification in 2012. Sagamiko Illumillion has been newly elected along with the re-elected Jewels of Enoshima Shonan in Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture and Ashikaga Flower Park in Ashikaga City, Tochigi Prefecture. I think it was the last time I visited here in 2017, but the stairs leading to the rather harsh entrance changed to an entrance with an elevator. During the Illumillion, it seems to be a rainbow-colored christmas lights named Bridge of Light. The first light flower field you see when you pass through the gate is a fantastic contrast between the colorful pink illuminations and the white illuminations decorated with cherry blossom trees. Climbing up the hill to that point, the blue-based illuminations such as the sea of light and the aquarium of light were studded, giving off a brilliance like the sunlight shining into the deep sea. After passing through the tunnel of light, you will arrive at the zoo of light, which is decorated with animal-like illuminations such as pandas and giraffes and green illuminations such as forests. There is also a butterfly-like illumination that resembles the Shinobu Kocho that appears in Kimetsu no Yaiba. There are attractions such as a maze of light and aerial athletics, so I couldn’t go to the Pokemon Illuminations, which was held for the first time this year, due to a time-out. The site is vast and it is a fun illumination event that you will forget that time has passed, so it is recommended that you leave plenty of time. Sagamiko Ilmilion is held until the beginning of April, but I think that the cherry blossoms are in full bloom by that time, so it may be a good idea to visit it several times.
