【4K UHD】ZOOM F3 32bit float + MXL CR21 with BMPCC6K | Plane Spotting at Sendai Airport
The sound of planes taking off and landing at Sendai Airport was recorded with the field recorder ZOOM F3, which was developed with the aim of making recordings that do not require volume adjustments and is aimed at error-free recording.
The video was shot with a digital cinema camera Blackmagic Pocket Cinema camera6K.
The ZOOM F3 is a 32-bit float recording field recorder that does not require volume adjustment during recording, and can reliably return to the appropriate level by adjusting the amplitude during editing, even if the gain is over on the waveform display.
With 16bit/24bit linear recording equipment, there were times when it was difficult to record at an appropriate volume, but by eliminating the microphone gain adjustment during recording, the probability of failure has been greatly reduced.
Also, by lowering the volume of the gain-over audio data, the volume can be lowered without destroying the waveform, and even if the input audio level is too low, it is possible to raise the overall volume without degrading the sound quality.
In this video, we mixed the sound recorded with ZOOM F3 with the video of the takeoff and landing scenery of the airplane taken at Sendai Airport.
Due to the strong wind, there was some noise from the wind, but I used a multi-band compressor to reduce the volume of only the frequency bands where the noise was strong.
After applying the multiband compressor, the gain is increased from +8dB to +11dB.
