Shiogama Shrine Light Up Event 2017 | Shiogama, Miyagi Japan

This is the evening sightseeing event Shiogama-sama Kamigami no Ttsuuki Akari held at Shiwahiko Shrine and Shiogama Shrine in Shiogama City, Miyagi Prefecture Japan on October 7th and 8th, 2017.
Shiwahiko Shrine and Shiogama Shrine, which are known as one of the leading power spots in Tohoku, are located in Shiogama City, Miyagi Prefecture. This place has a long history of more than 1200 years and is the original shrine of Shiogama Shrines all over the country.
At Shiwahiko Shrine and Shiogama Shrine, a night festival to light up the precincts is held twice a year, in spring and autumn, sponsored by four Shiogama youth groups. In April, when the cherry blossoms bloom, “Shiogama-sama Kamigami no Hana Akari” is held, and from late September to early October, “Shiogama-sama Kamigami no Tsuki Akari” is held.
The autumn “Shiogama-sama Kamigami no Tsuki Akari”, which we will introduce this time, will be held as part of the Minato Shiogama Yume Expo 2018, which is held in the Shiogama area.This event is a night event where bamboo is cut into short pieces and candles are lit inside, and the approach to the precincts and the worship hall are lit up with LED lights, etc. Performances by ancient Japanese musical instruments such as ancient japanese flutes and biwa will also be performed at the same time.
